POLiS Conclave

Klausurtagung

This year's Conclave is taking place from June 18 to 19, 2024 - excellent young scientists from all over the world will come together with established professors to discuss the latest research trends in battery research. Networking and the possibility to gain access to potential future employees is given here. For the first time, the event is taking place in a prestigious venue in the heart of Karlsruhe right at Schlossplatz. The agenda will feature a total of 5 keynote presentations and 22 regular talks along with several poster sessions. Also, the POLiS Award of Excellence for Female Researchers will be presented and the popular Science Slam will also be taking place again.

A look back

For the second year in a row, around 140 POLiS members came together on June 20 and 21, 2023 for an internal Conclave in Ulm. Principal investigators, international research associates and PhD students from Karlsruhe, Ulm and Gießen gave an overview and update on their current research activities.

The POLiS Award of Excellence was presented again this year - the awardee 2023 was María Arnaiz, Associate Researcher at CIC energiGUNE.The POLiS Award of Excellence for Female Researchers is given annually to an outstanding female early and mid-career researcher working in one of the scientific topics of the POLiS Cluster. It entails up to 70,000 € for one or several research stays at one of POLiS participating institutions (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Ulm University, the Centre for Solar Energy and Hydrogen Research Baden-Württemberg (ZSW) and University of Giessen) to establish and strengthen international collaborations.

In three poster sessions, a total of over 60 POLiS members presented their research findings. The Science Slam, introduced last year, in which participants present their research results in an entertaining way and in just four minutes, also took place again. The winner 2023 was Mahla Talari from KIT.
