The support of young researchers is a declared goal for POLiS. The main objectives include:
- Support for researchers at different career levels
- Provide young scientists with an optimal, international work environment
- Structured education and qualification program in the Graduate School Electrochemical Energy Storage (GS-EES)
- Foster independence of Early Career Researchers by providing them with necessary tools, qualifications, resources and mentorship
- Establish the next generation of highly qualified battery researchers and engineers
The career prospects of young researchers in this Cluster are excellent due to the high scientific and industrial relevance of the research program, which is reflected in the high demand for well-trained specialists in the relevant industries, e.g. battery material suppliers, automotive and electronics industries.
The Cluster offers a structured qualification program based on five pillars:
- Active recruitment of young researchers
- Intensive supervision of final theses
- General scientific training
- Training of transferable skills for doctoral researchers
- Specific career support measures
