First Block Course of the Graduate School
The Graduate School "Electrochemical Energy Storage" organized the block course "Materials, Functioning and Technology of Batteries" from 16th to 20th February at Reisensburg Castle, a science centre of the Ulm University. Around 50 PhD students and postdocs took part in the five-day course.
The program included scientific lectures on topics of theoretical chemistry, characterization methods and battery types to come up to the interdisciplinary approach of POLiS. In addition, the participants were taught in overarching topics such as science communication, good scientific practice and research data management.
An important goal of the block course was the networking of the participating young researchers, who presented their research projects in presentations and on posters.
