POLiS Phd Student David Burger receives Ed Cohen Travel Award
The ISCSTs Ed Cohen Travel Award has been granted to POLiS PhD Student David Burger (KIT-TFT) to present his research about the processing and structural optimization of Sodium-Ion-Battery (SIB) electrodes referring to examples from lithium-ion-battery technology at the 22nd International Coating Science and Technology Symposium (ISCST) Sep. 8-11th 2024 in Atlanta / USA. The ISCST takes place biannually and is the oldest and most significant international scientific conference on Coating Science & Technology. The title of the contributions both as talk as well as poster were „Structural Optimization for Drying of Sodium-Ion-Battery (SIB) Electrodes”, co-authored by Julian Klemens, Philip Scharfer, and Wilhelm Schabel and included co-chairing a conferences session.
The talk explores new multilayer structural optimizations as well as material approaches and processes for coating and drying sodium-ion-battery (SIB) electrodes compared to lithium-ion-battery electrodes. The work is part of the research of KIT´s TFT and IAM-ESS groups in the Post-Lithium Storage Cluster of Excellence (POLiS).
